History
Whidbey Island Radio Control Society was established in 1976, after a group of modelers formed a club under the AMA. WIRCS has operated under the same charter #624 since then.

The club quickly earned national recognition as club officer (and local photographer) Fred House took first prize in a national RC Modeler magazine contest.

Today
WIRCS continues to be a home for radio control enthusiasts of all ages, interests, and levels of experience.
Our members build and fly everything from ultra micro foam models to intricately detailed large scale reproductions. Some even pilot real full scale aircraft.
We don’t stop at airplanes either; our members occasionally bring out helicopters and a few even fly modern drones as well.
What brings us together is the common goal of enjoying radio control hobbies. We look forward to having you join us too!
